What do I need to be prepared for the shoot ?(1) You’ll want to get plenty of rest and sustenance. Photoshoot days can sometimes be exhausting; even though we work hard to maintain a good vibe, your body can start to feel worn out which can affect your photos. This can be especially true if you’re a parent. Snacks and beverages are welcome. (2) Plan everything out ahead of time - your outfit(s), hair, makeup, etc. You don’t want to take care of this last minute and risk being late to your session. Planning early will set the tone for a great photoshoot. Creating a Pinterest board with the vision of your session is encouraged (and please be sure to share it with me). (3) Be sure to arrive 15 min. early to your scheduled session start time; I cannot stress this enough. This will avoid any late fees, cancellation fees or the possibility of your appointment being cancelled altogether. (4) Let your children know about your upcoming photo session. Choose a time frame that keeps nap times in mind. Encourage smiles, laughter, love and affection so that this can be felt in the session and be captured in your photos. (5) Be sure to pack extra lotion, earrings, a shirt etc. Things can happen, so prepare for these moments. (6) Props and accessories are encouraged! Whether it’s a birthday shoot and you bring balloons, or a headshot session and you have a few blazers; these items further enhance your session and experience. (7) Feel free to bring a family member or a friend to the shoot with you. Think of them as your personal hype-(wo)man! (8) Be open-minded & willing to try new things. It may be “awkward” or silly but it could also be the thing that makes for a great photo! (9) Enjoy yourself! Sessions are supposed to be fun! (10) You can count on me to make sure everything goes smoothly on your big day! Please email me any/all of your questions prior to the photoshoot. I want to ensure we’re on the same page.
