Merissa Humes

As far as I can remember, I have always loved taking pictures and was always the one capturing special moments. My business grew out of the pandemic and my love for photography.

After giving birth to my son in 2018, I made a conscious decision never to go back to the traditional "9-5" job.  In 2020 I took a risk and invested in myself & my business, hoping that it would eventually pay for itself. It has ten times over!

 

Joy is my mission. Having seen so much happening in the world, I have learned that joy is more than just happiness, sunshine and rainbows. Happiness fades away, but joy can be found in sorrow, anger, elation, and just by being yourself. Joy is contentment. Joy is a choice.

 

A moment only comes once. As a photographer, I aim to capture experiences you can look back on and say, "I'm so happy I booked that photoshoot!" It would be my pleasure to add to the precious memories and moments you hold most dear to you. After a session with me, if you feel seen, heard, and valued... I have done my job. I have fulfilled my purpose.

 

Your story is to be shared. I want you to have more than just pictures that hang on your walls; I want you to have photos that represent the depth of who you are. Pictures that would spark conversations between friend groups, colleagues and family.
